A very successful promotion night was held at our meeting last week. We had several cadet promotions as well as a change of command ceremony. Our previous cadet commander of two years, Lieutenant Colonel Abigail DeBow passed the roll over to our new cadet commander Second Lieutenant James Kelley. We want to wish them both the best in their upcoming rolls. Cadet Andrew Pincince was promoted to Second Lieutenant and received the Billy Mitchel award. Only about 15% of civil air patrol cadets reach this point in the program. Cadets Kelley and Turner received their Wright Brothers awards for their recent promotions. This award is earned after completing phase one of the cadet program. Cadet Folger was promoted to Senior Master Sergeant, Cadet Thompson was promoted to Senior Airman and Cadet Keeney was promoted to Airmen First Class. Congratulations to all for your hard work!
Also a big thank you to everyone who came out to help us honor our cadets and their hard work!!

On Thursday, February 13th,The cadets had a mixed meeting of PT and Aerospace because they missed PT the week before due to snow. the meeting began with opening formation. After formation, the cadets stretched as they got ready for PT. They had stations that they could go to. C/Lt.Col DeBow's station was sit ups and russian twists, C/CMSgt Pincince's station was wall sits, C/CMSgt Kelley's station was lunges, and C/2dLt. Kelley's station was push ups. When PT was finished, the cadets had an Airplane Safety class with Lieutenant Turner and learned a lot of new things. The night came towards an end with drill and drill tests. This meeting was C/Lt.Col DeBow's last meeting as the squadron commander which she announced to the cadets during the meeting, as she will be handing the squadron over to C/2dLt. Kelley. The night ended with closing formation and the cadets were free to go home. C/MSgt Sheighlyn Folger |
